Gas Jet Pump

Supersonic Gas Jet Pumps have been used in Oil & Gas applications since the early 1900s. Interest in supersonic Gas Jet Pumps has been rekindled by recent efforts to reduce energy consumption and compression cost.

These simulations present the results of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of a supersonic ejector for use in Oil & Gas process system.

The impact of varying operating conditions (motive & suction pressures) on the Gas Jet Pumps entrainment ratio and Gas Jet Pump performance was investigated. Other parameters considered in this study include: the primary nozzle exit position (NXP); the dimensions & specification of the mixing chamber and secondary flow inlet. The results show that CFD is a useful tool in the design of Gas Jet Pumps in Oil & Gas applications.
